It is interesting to note that the mkt is registering new high but selldown by futures.
Profit taking activities are now for the time being.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI)hit a new all-time high in early trading with gains seen on mostkey-heavyweights led by Tenaga Nasional, said dealers. The Composite Index (CI) rose 10.52 points to 1,333.43 after 45 minutes oftrading, slightly lower than 1,334.44 as at 9.18 am. It was opened at 1,326.64,up by 3.73 points. The dealers said the CI registered new high on buying of plantation counterson expectations of better earnings following the higher crude palm oil prices(CPO). The KLCI yesterday closed at an all-time high of 1,322.91, a new recordafter hitting 1,314.46 on Jan 5, 1994 at The Second Board Index perked 0.26 of a point to 102.87 and the Mesdaq Indexwas almost flat at 142.09, or up by 0.06 of a point. The Industrial Index rose 15.32 points to 2,603.58 and the Finance Indexjumped 32.41 points to 10,609.7. The FBMEmas gained 79.81 points to 8,963.29 and the FBM30 rose 94.16 pointsto 8,509.79. Gainers led losers by 442 to 214, while 292 counters were unchanged, 432untraded and another 33 suspended. Trading was moderate with 479.085 million shares worth RM535.231 millionchanging hands. -- MORE
